on Yarmouth's Main Street in 2002. We continued to collect and sell books by Yarmouth authors, genealogists, and historians. In addition to Yarmouth, we also collected the books of a few Portland, Maine, publishers and authors, in particular, the publications of the Colesworthy brothers of Portland and Boston. The history of Yarmouth, Maine, is especially interesting and spans nearly 400 years of European occupation. It is believed that there were settlers here as early as 1636. The town offered four waterfalls on the Royall River and was called by its Native American name, Westcustogo. It was wiped out by King Philip's War of 1675, but was reorganized by the Massachusetts Bay colony in 1680 and named North Yarmouth.
